FilNight Committees

This year’s FilNight could not have been possible without the extraordinary behind-the-scenes work done by our committees!

Kimberly Quiocho

I wanted to be involved in Filipino Night because I love my culture and wanted to showcase the multiple facets of it to the general public. Organizing this event allowed me to better my understanding of Filipino-American and mainland Filipino popular culture and history. Filipino Night is a time for collective joy, and there was nothing more that I wanted than to play a part in spreading happiness to my community.

Marketing

Marketing committee is made up of four subcommittees: Website, Logistics, Design, and Palengke. The website subcommittee focused on designing the FilNight website, while logistics has worked on outreach efforts for our FilNight. Design ideated and created the engaging promotional materials and palengke has worked on contacting vendors for our market!

Sayaw

Taken from the Tagalog word for dance, Sayaw is FASA sa UW’s traditional Filipino folk dance group. This group performs for various organizations around Seattle, at the University of Washington, and of course, FilNight! Sayaw is led by FASA sa UW’s Sayaw Coordinator, Jess Gonzaga. Learn more about them and the other members of Sayaw below!

Production

The Production committee is made up of two subcommittees: show production and decorations. Our production committee has put in the hours to make sure that the day-of logistics, rehearsals, and all things FilNight are taken care of. Our members have worked hard to bring Filipino Night to life!

Media

Media is made up of two subcommittees: Photography and Videography. Members have worked on combining the visual works created by the scriptwriting team from cast to turn FilNight into a Fil(m)Night!

Legacy

FASA’s very own hip-hop dance group takes shape through Legacy. This group gathers dancers of all levels to host workshops and choreograph performances like you’ve never seen before. Like many of our organizations in FASA, Legacy is student-led and serves as a way for members to engage in creative performance!

Cast

Meet the Cast of our Short Film: Bridging the Gap! We have gathered some talented students and actors to be a part of this production. Take a look and catch them during the premiere of Bridging the Gap on May 20th!
